Oleg L. Gorovyi

Today, I have the privilege of devoting myself entirely to my painting. My primary objective in my work is to infuse interior spaces with the positive energy of nature. This is why I have a penchant for depicting landscapes and seascapes.

My Objective

My primary objective in my work is to infuse interior spaces with the positive energy of nature.

My Hope

I hope that viewing my work brings you aesthetic pleasure and allows you to connect with the beauty of the natural world.

I am Oleg, born in the USSR in 1962. My journey into the word of painting began from a young age, starting with watercolors. As my passion grew, I found my way into an art studio, where I began to capture the world around me on canvas. During high school, I actively participated in art competitions and exhibitions. By 1977, I had ventured into oil painting, focusing on plein air landscapes.

In 1985, I earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. With a background as an architect during the days of the USSR.

Throughout my university years and subsequent professional life, I remained deeply connected to watercolor painting. In my spare time, I explored the realm of oil painting, and from 2004 onward, I dedicated more of my time to this medium.

Today, I have the privilege of devoting myself entirely to my oil painting. My primary objective in my work is to infuse interior spaces with the positive energy of nature. This is why I have a penchant for depicting landscapes and seascapes.

Now based in the picturesque town of New Canaan, Connecticut, immersing myself in my art. Every painting you see on this website is a testament to my dedication and love for my work.

In my paintings, I strive to capture the impressions and emotions I experience when immersed in a chosen landscape, aiming to convey these sentiments to the viewer.

If something in my work resonates with you, it indicates that I’ve achieved something meaningful.

"The ocean is comprised of countless droplets. The world of an artist revolves around impressions gathered from childhood, adolescence, and the journey of life itself. These impressions number in the thousands, even hundreds of thousands, running deep and strong. Yet, on the surface, there exists a facade that leaves no trace of life behind. Some pass by without unsettling the soul, while others carve an everlasting place in our memories..."
